It is pure joy watching these two kiddos...tiring pure joy but pure joy none the less. They both keep me running. Kate is fully in her terrible twos and there are difficult moments along with the sweet ones. One of the sweet and difficult ones came last night when we Chris started getting Kate down for bed. She had a coloring book along with colored pencils that she wanted to take to bed and we weren't really cool with having sharp objects that she might poke herself with in her sleep. So when she saw that we were about to put our foot down she threw a fit, complete with rolling around on the floor. But instead of shouting "NO!" she was very polite and well-mannered and was yelling "NO THANK YOU! NO THANK YOU!!!"
Oh but with all those hard moments there are sweet ones too...like the picture below of Kate adoring her little brother. There really is no love lost between these two. He already seems captivated by her yet has learned to be defensive to avoid getting his eye poked by quickly turning his head or swinging his arm in defense. Kate loves imitating Momma...but her babies are her bears.
Off to take care of the two that keep my hands full but also keep my cup overflowing.
