January: We were starting to get used to the parenting thing. We were introduced to truly cold winters with lots of snow (which we're still enjoying, today it's snowing and is predicted to continue through New Years weekend). Uncle Andrew came up for a visit and got to meet Kate for the first time. He was such a help! We also joined a playgroup with a bunch of moms with daughters about Kate's age.
February: Dot Dot came for a visit. Chris and I celebrated 10 years of dating/knowing each other.
March: Kate started eating "real" food. Nana and Aunt Whitney came up for a visit. We continued to endure the snow...awaiting spring anxiously.
April: More friends began having babies so our playgroup enlarged and we started walking weekly with other moms and tots. We took Kate on her first plane ride (first of five this year) to Arkansas where she got to meet more family.
May: We celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary. We enjoyed short sleeves, walks outside and BBQ's on our patio. Kate turned 6 months old. We went to Boston to see some of Chris' friends.
June: We traveled down to Texas for the Ross family reunion. Kate got to meet her cousin Jack. We thoroughly enjoyed warmer temperatures. We also thoroughly enjoyed a visit from Dot Dot and Poppy.
July: We made day trips to the mansions in Newport, RI and to go raspberry picking.
August: We flew to Arkansas for Chris' 10 year class reunion. My brother Andrew got engaged to Carrie. Kate started to crawl.
September: We made weekend trips to New York City and Boston. In Boston we got to visit Nana, Kate's Great Grandmother Lynn and Great Aunt Cindy.
October: Fall arrived with beautiful colors! We enjoyed a visit from Dot Dot and Poppy.
November: Kate and I traveled down to Birmingham, AL to visit Johnny, Tara, and Jack. Kate turned ONE!!! We had fun throwing her party. We participated in our second Thanksgiving at the Crocketts.
December: Christmas decorating, parties and traveling kept us busy. We enjoyed a white Christmas in Arkansas with family.
Whew! 2009 was a fun but busy year. We're looking forward to what 2010 has in store. Thanks for indulging me in a walk down memory lane...
