Summer visit with Poppy and Dot Dot

We had a great visit with Poppy and Dot Dot (we're wondering if Dot Dot will be easier to say than Grandot...Kate will probably have her own version). We got some great pictures you'll see in the slideshow. They came in on Saturday and then headed by train this morning to Washington D.C. where they were going to meet up with Andrew at Quantico, VA. Andrew's been enduring his 3rd Marine Corps bootcamp. He's been going through OCS (Officer Candidate School) and has finished in the top of his class and graduating with honors tomorrow. We're so proud of you Uncle Andrew!

Kate made huge head way on the crawling, she's scooting everywhere and has figured out how to get that cute bottom in the air. She rolls/scoots EVERYWHERE and I'm starting to see what other moms had told me about mobility! We took Mom and Dad to a park in New Canaan called Waveny Park and had a great time touring this VERY large home built in 1912 by one of the founders of Texaco. The house serves as a community center and is open to the public. The grounds are beautiful and it's a perfect spot for a picnic. We may do that has a family sometime this 4th of July weekend, in fact. We tooled around New Canaan and made our way to a tasty cupcake boutique that's very popular in NYC, Crumbs Bakery Shop. So as we did last year, with Magnolia Bakery in the city, we brought 4 home and had a sampling of each. We had a great time and I'm looking forward to seeing family again come August when we're in Arkansas for Chris' class reunion.
